48 Hours in Pigeon Forge

Hooray, it’s finally time for a little getaway! We all need a couple days to relax and rejuvenate ourselves, and what better way than planning a quick trip to somewhere nearby? Pigeon Forge is one of the most family friendly destinations you can visit. Whether you’re a new visitor or a veteran, we can guarantee that our charming town will instantly become a staple in your life. Many visitors can be here in less than a day’s drive, making it such a beloved area to take a quick getaway to. We all know that one of the most important parts of planning a trip is finding an affordable, clean, and comfortable place to stay at. If you want to be able to check off all those boxes and maybe even a few others then we think you should definitely give us a try! When you stay with us at Bear Crossing, we offer two and three bedroom condos with a private balcony facing the beautiful and serene little pigeon river to come and relax at after a busy day out and about. There so many new and exciting things to do in town that sometimes it’s hard to narrow it down to some must-do’s. We’re here to help you out a bit and give you our own personal favorite places to see so you can plan the perfect itinerary. Let’s take a look at what 48 Hours in Pigeon Forge could look like!

Day 1

We recommend starting your morning off with a delicious breakfast. We know there are so many places to choose from, but if you’re looking for one not too far from the property, we suggest trying out Sawyer’s Farmhouse Breakfast! Make sure to come hungry, they give you so much food, and it’s all absolutely amazing. From pancakes to omelettes and everything in between, we can promise that you will fall in love with this restaurant. Once you’re full and happily satisfied, it’s time to continue on with your adventure! Ready to visit one of the most unique attractions in Pigeon Forge? Parrot Mountain and Gardens, located right next to Dollywood, offers you an experience unlike anything you’ve ever done before. You can see, touch, and feed live birds and they’re absolutely breathtaking. You can also take a walk through their secret garden or grab some lunch at their delicious deli. This place is so special and we promise you will fall in love from the second you arrive. Once you finish there, it’s time to visit the park that really helped to put our town on the map. That’s right, we’re talking about Dollywood! Make sure to pick up some discounted tickets at our front desk, we’ll even print them out for you so you can beat the lines. Once inside, get ready for some true entertainment. From shows to thrill rides and even a kiddie zone, this park has something for everyone. You won’t want to miss their summer celebration that will feature a fireworks show every night! Once you’re done with this amazing park, you’re probably going to want some equally incredible dinner. Mama’s Farmhouse will definitely take care of you. Get ready for some classic southern food like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, biscuits, and the list goes on, and it’s even served family style! Best of all, you get a free dinner and drink each night thanks to our free tickets program, so this is one spot you won’t want to miss. After dinner, why not go and feel the need, the need for speed? Visit The Track for some go karting, mini golf, and much more. The family will absolutely love it here. After such a busy day out, you’ll want to relax a bit. We suggest coming back and hanging out in the pool/lazy river or even renting some free dvds from the front office! Enjoy some quality time together in the comfort of your own condo, and get ready for an exciting second day.

Day 2

Rise and shine, it’s time for another fantastic day in town. It’s time for another delightful breakfast, and this time we recommend visiting Mel’s Classic Diner! This place fills up fast so you’ll want to get here early. You will feel like you’re stepping back into the 50’s when you enter. With jukebox classics playing and amazing food to go with it, we know this will become a new staple every time you’re in town. After such a filling breakfast, you might want to take it easy for a little while, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while doing so! The Titanic Museum is an educational and entertaining adventure that everyone in your party is sure to enjoy. Pick up your discounted tickets from our front desk and get ready to climb aboard. You will find exact replicas of the parlors, grand staircase, and more, as well as artifacts throughout. You will also get to touch a real iceberg and see how cold the water truly was on that fateful night. At the end, you will find out if you lived or perished. This is a wonderful journey that you won’t want to miss. It’s now time to do a bit of shopping, we know you’ve been waiting patiently to do so. First up is Tanger Outlets, a shopping oasis that has everything from designer handbags to home goods. Smoky Mountain Knife Works is another spot you’ll want to visit. They have everything from apparel to kitchenware and it’s a store that you can easily get lost in. Are you ready for some lunch? How about some sandwiches with freshly made bread? Pigeon Forge Deli is one of our favorite places to eat at and we’re sure you all will love it there as well. They have some of the best soups and sandwiches around and it’s the perfect lunch spot. After that, it’s time to visit one of our other favorite shopping and attractions destination. The Island has everything here and it’s all in one place. Whether you want to go shopping, play on a ropes course, ride The Wheel, or even do the Escape Game, you are sure to have an amazing time from beginning to end. And now, to end the perfect 48 Hours in Pigeon Forge, it’s time to go to one of our incredible dinner shows. Hatfield & McCoy is one of the funniest shows around, it’ll have you crying from laughing so hard. Watch these two families work out their differences, mountain style, and let the crazy shenanigans begin. Best of all, you get to enjoy a delicious four course meal featuring southern favorites like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and much more. Don’t forget you get a free ticket to the show as well. What a fantastic ending to  your special getaway!
