If you like to laugh, then this is the show you absolutely cannot miss while in town. Voted year after year the best family comedy variety show in the Smoky Mountains, the awards speak for themselves. The show features ventriloquists, magicians, jugglers, animals, live music and, of course, lots of comedy. This is a clean, family friendly entertainment show and it is guaranteed to make everyone in your group laugh continuously. Also, when you are a guest of ours at Bear Crossing Condos, you receive 1 Adult Admission Daily to this show with our Entertainment Rewards Pass. With shows daily, make sure to put this show on your list of Musts when coming to the Pigeon Forge area.
The Old Mill Square
Enjoy some shopping, dining and history while on your trip to the area. The Old Mill is one of the most visited places in this area and for good reason too! The actual Old Mill is one of the most photographed mill wheels in the world and is on the National Historic Register. In the early 1800’s, this water powered gristmill was a popular place for people of Pigeon Forge. The mill made the meals and flours that was basically crucial to people during that time. The Old Mill even produced electricity for the town until 1935. To this day, the mill makes their own flour and meals and you can purchase some in their shops. It is quite good. If you have the extra time, be sure to take one of their guided tours while in town as well, especially if you are a history buff.
Whether you like to find one of a kind gifts, Smoky Mountain memorabilia, craft items, kitchen items, jewelry or pottery-there are a variety of stores for you to walk through. The Old Mill General Store is full of fresh-ground grains, flours, pancake mixes, jams and unique craft items that are of this area. This is also where you can catch a guided tour. If you are like me and like to look at unique jewelry, you will love their store Sassafras. Folks with a sweet tooth will enjoy the Candy Kitchen where you have a huge choice of tasty treats to purchase for yourself or as a gift to someone back home. This doesn’t even cover all their shops so be sure to visit them online to see what all you and your family can enjoy. PS-you can take a peaceful walk down the Pigeon Forge Riverwalk, which runs behind Bear Crossing to the Old Mill Square.
If you are looking for a place for the whole family to enjoy for a whole day or night, then The Island in Pigeon Forge is your place to venture to. With over sixty retail and specialty shops, the shoppers will be entertained for hours. Not to mention the many rides and games for the kids to enjoy. The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is at The Island and I am sure you have seen it if you have ever visited this area. Hop into a comfortable gondola and view Pigeon Forge from high above the crowds. You also get to witness amazing views of the Great Smoky Mountains while aboard. One of the most popular attractions for kids is the Ropes Course. Consisting of two zip lines, a quick fall and a ton of elements, kids can go for hours on this course. Also at The Island is the Miner’s Gems, Mirror Maze, 7D Dark Ride Adventure, Alcatraz East Crime Museum, Bumper Cars, Escape Game and a large Arcade. So, as you can see, the kids will be plenty entertained.
One of the most fun and sought after attractions is the Fountain Show. Day or Night, the Fountains play music and light up to the beat of the drum. Rockers surround the Fountains and it is truly one of the most relaxing places to be in town. Shows play about every 30 minutes.
After a day of shopping and entertainment, you and your family are sure to work up an appetite. The Island is home to Margaritaville, Mellow Mushroom, two Paula Deen restaurants, Timberwood Grill, Dick’s Last Resort and more! There are plenty of choices for you and your family to refuel at. If you are looking for something to nibble on, Cinnabon, Kapop! and Auntie Anne’s are great places to grab a quick snack before heading to another attraction with the kids. Be sure to check out their events as they do a variety of different things throughout the year like concerts, magic shows, Halloween bash and a New Year’s celebration.
The Pigeon Forge Riverwalk will also take you from Bear Crossing straight to The Island if you follow it down the river.
Pigeon Forge Trolley
The Pigeon Forge Trolley is a huge time saver when you are new to visiting the area or just want to sit back, relax and let someone else get you to your destination. This is a fantastic and enjoyable way to see the area and visit the popular attractions without having to weave your way through the unfamiliar roads. Trolleys typically run every 15 to 20 minutes. You can catch a trolley about a block from Bear Crossing Condos, right along the Pigeon Forge Parkway. Oh and the best part is that it only costs 50 cents to ride or you can purchase an all day pass for $2.50.
Whether your group is all adults and you want to play a game of pool or whether you have a group of kids, the Rockin Raceway has over 150 games. It is a fun experience for everyone and offers games that will enthrall everyone of every age. They open daily at 10AM.
