Shop til you drop! One of my favorite things about going on vacation is doing a little shopping! It’s nice to treat yourself and have a ‘girls’ day while the guys go out and play golf or walk the strip looking at cars. The ever so popular car shows are coming up these next two weekends, so I thought I would share some of my favorite places to do some Shopping in the Smokies!

Pigeon Forge Shopping

Pigeon Forge has a variety of local and large chain shops to choose from. The Old Mill, more known for its yummy food and delicious cafe (hello baked potato soup, and bread!), but included with all that yumminess are some cute shops that are a must see when you are visiting our area. The Old Mill Square is made up of a variety of shops like: The Old Mill General Store where you can pick up cornmeal, grits, and the mix to make the fritters you ate at breakfast. The Old Mill Creamery and The Old Mill Candy Kitchen are sure to cure your sweet tooth. The Old Mill Pigeon River Pottery where you can shop for one-of-a-kind functional hand-made pottery. Sassafrass offers unique fashion jewelry. There are even a few shops across the street that are worth a visit, The Old Forge Distillery, and you can even witness a live demonstration from the only blacksmith in Pigeon Forge outside of Dollywood at Iron Mountain Metal Craft Shop.

I don’t know about you, but I feel like I could spend all day in Old Time Pottery! They have just about anything and everything for your home decor. When you go in, I promise you will not go out empty handed. Especially with Fall just around the corner, their Fall decor is super cute!

Are there any camping lovers out there? The Coleman Outlet Store is probably my husband’s favorite. We’ve made many purchases there over the years. They are located near Old Time Pottery in the Bellas Outlet Mall off of Teaster Lane. Keep an eye out, because they frequently have large outdoor sales. Look for the white tent! We always seem to stop and see what good deals we can find. If you like to hunt for gently used items be sure to check out Diane’s Resale Shop on Veteran’s Blvd.

Lidl Dolly’s offers the largest selection of quilts in the Southeast! A true heaven for all you quilt lovers out there! Aside from quilts, they also offer: throws, table linens, and most commonly known for their southern belle dresses! Full of ruffles, bows, and butterflies (Dolly Parton’s favorite) these dresses are just too cute! My Mom and I recently visited to purchase a beautiful purple dress for my daughter who is 9 months old. We of course bought all of the matching accessories. What’s so neat about shopping at this store is the seamstresses are working in the back while you shop. Definitely worth a visit!

Sevierville Shopping

Aside from the Coleman Outlet, Smoky Mountain Knife Works is definitely my husband’s favorite! I’m sure every man that ever visits our area has stopped at Knife Works at least once. This huge 3 story building has a variety of things to see and it’s not just your typical “guy” stuff! Each floor seems to have a theme and will truly appease everyone in your family! I’d say this is a must stop for sure. There are a few other neat shops located right near Knife Works, Cast Iron Lodge, and Coleman.

One of the most popular shopping destinations in Sevierville is the Tanger Five Oaks Outlet Mall. Full of our most favorite places to shop, you can do all of your Christmas shopping in one place. I do know, that people travel here to partake in the famous Black Friday Shopping. I love the environment of this outdoor outlet mall, and not to mention the frozen yogurt eatery next to the Mall Office. Shopping in the Smokies and frozen yogurt, #doublewin!

Gatlinburg Shopping

The Village Shops in Gatlinburg are like taking a trip back in time. Full of neat boutiques and eateries, you can spend an entire afternoon checking each one out. This is a great place to shop for unique gifts. I love shops that offer things you wouldn’t find in a regular large chain store. This is your place!

Gatlinburg Craftsmens Community is its own destination. I would plan this for an all day event. There is so much to see in this community, you are sure to be amazed! I don’t know of a better definition of Shopping in the Smokies.

The Nantahala Outdoor Center is one of my favorite stores in Gatlinburg. Located at the downtown Gatlinburg entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains it is your one stop shop for everything you need for the great outdoors! This very large store is full of your favorite outdoor gear like Columbia and North Face. I am not a super outdoorsy person, but when I leave this store I’m ready to pack up my gear and hike Mt. LeConte! This store, I feel, can get anyone excited about nature, being educated about nature, and purchasing the proper gear to experience it to the fullest.

Let us know if you visit any of our recommendations for shopping in the smokies on your next vacation. We personally love these shops and believe you will too. If you need a place to stay, we would love to have you vacation with us at Bear Crossing. We offer two and three bedroom riverside rentals in downtown Pigeon Forge.
