Tis’ the Season to eat delicious treats! No doubt about it, this time of year is full of all the treats you can possibly think of. With all the holiday parties and get-together s you are likely to try something new at each one. What are your Favorite Holiday Treats? Today, we’re going to share a few of our favorites. Grab your recipe book, you may want to write some of these down!

M&M Pretzel Snack

I was introduced to these beauties when I was in high school I believe. Literally the easiest treat for the perfect combination of sweet and salty! Ingredients are simple, and you can choose a variety for different flavors. The base of course is a small pretzel. You can choose the checkered square pretzel, or the traditional heart shaped pretzel. My favorite are snyders, but any brand will do! The next ingredient you need are Hershey kisses. You can choose regular milk chocolate, hugs (white and milk chocolate), caramel, etc. Place pretzels on a cookie sheet and top with Hershey kiss. Pre-heat oven to 400*F. Place cookie sheet in oven for only a few minutes (long enough the chocolate to “sweat”. Remove from oven and top with M&M’s (peanut or original) Place cookie sheet in the fridge for chocolate to harden. Once they have cooled and hardened you can place them in treat bags or on a small platter. You can alternate ingredients to your liking of chocolate candies. Another combination I have tried is making a pretzel sandwich using Rolos. It was divine!

Oreo Truffles

You had me at Oreo! Our house loves Oreo’s and it is a staple for us. Every shopping trip they just end up in our cart. These babies take on a whole new meaning and are adorable for the Holidays. A combination of Oreos, cream cheese, and white chocolate. These are mouth watering and one of my Favorite Holiday Treats!

Holiday Peanut Butter Balls

If you love peanut butter and chocolate, you will love this recipe! My husband and I are big peanut butter fans, unfortunately our oldest son is allergic so we have a long distance relationship with it. These will melt in your mouth! Holiday Peanut Butter Balls look cute and taste even better. A staple at every non-allergic Christmas party.

White Chocolate Reindeer Popcorn

I love the name of this treat! White chocolate and popcorn? Count me in! I will be making this Favorite Holiday Treat for my family this year. The ingredients are simple and you can make it anytime of year, just change sprinkle and M&M colors! Here is a list of what you need:

Sprinkles : Red, Green, and White

1 Cup Pretzel Pieces

1 ¾ Cup M&M’s (preferably red and green)

1 9oz bag of Vanilla Candy Melts

⅓ Cup of popping popcorn kernels or 1 bag of white popcorn

This sounds amazing doesn’t it? The perfect treat while watching your favorite Christmas movie!

Is your mouth watering yet? I know mine is! This list is so small compared to what is out there. Pinterest is the go-to for all different kinds of recipes. There are many resources out there that will never let you down as far as ideas for Favorite Holiday Treats. However, the most meaningful treats are those that have been passed down, generation to generation. I’m sure each family has at least one. In my family my great-grandmother would make Frozen Fruit Cups. This tradition has followed me into adulthood. My great-grandmother left us many years ago, so my great-Aunt took over the tradition. She left us a year ago and my Mom now keeps it going. There are a variety of Frozen fruit cup recipes when I searched Pinterest. However, ours is unique and special because with it are memories of sweet cherished times. That really is what is most important isn’t it?

Make a new treat this year, but most of all enjoy making it or sharing it with the ones you love. From all of us at Bear Crossing, we wish you a Merry Christmas!
