We know that finding a clean and comfortable place to rest your head at is also a necessity when it comes to vacation planning and we’ve got you covered there. When you stay with us at Bear Crossing, we offer beautiful two and three bedroom condos that come complete with a private balcony overlooking the serene little pigeon river. Our property is located at traffic light #5, right in the heart of Pigeon Forge, putting you in walking distance of so many popular places. We know it can be hard to narrow down the must visits, so we decided to help you out a bit. Let’s take a look at what A Day at the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge could look like!

The Old Mill is located at traffic light #7 and it’s full of everything you could possibly be looking for when planning a day out and about. Best of all, you can park there for free, or be there within minutes after a short walk from our property. Once you’ve arrived, we recommend starting your day off by getting some delicious breakfast at the Old Mill Restaurant. Trust us when we say these meals are fit for a king and queen, so to speak. This place has become a staple for so many families over the years and it’s for good reason. The food is incredible and the decor makes you feel like you’re eating a meal in the comfort of your own home. They have everything from pancakes to omelettes and tasty egg breakfasts, you are sure to leave full and satisfied. Their southern hospitality and customer service are top notch and it’s somewhere I like to visit for breakfast as often as I can.

After having such a filling meal, you might just want to take some time to try and walk it off a bit. Lucky for us, Old Mill Square has plenty of unique shops surrounding it for us all to do some window browsing at. You will find specialty shops that give you that old time feeling when you walk in. Pigeon River Pottery is a guest favorite and one we highly recommend. Here you will find hand-crafted pottery and one of a kind pieces to take home with you. A really interesting fun fact about this shop is that the two restaurants actually use a lot of plates, bowls, and shakers that their local artisans made. This is sure to become a new must visit every time you’re in town. I’m sure when you arrived, you saw the beautiful mill right on-site, it’s what gave them the name after all! The Old Mill is actually one of the most photographed mills in this entire country, pretty cool right? Adjoining to the mill is another popular shop called the General Store. This place is sure to make your taste buds go wild. They have fresh ground yellow and white grits and cornmeal, homemade jams, dip mixes, and other unique pieces and gifts. Make sure you stop by during your Day at the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge! They have plenty of other great stores to visit like Farmhouse Kitchen for all your pantry and kitchen supplies, as well as Sassafras for unique jewelry and accessories. You will fall in love with the shopping district you’ll find here.

After shopping til you drop, it’s time to have a little fun! Patriot Park is located right in the middle of the Old Mill and features a wide open field area, river view, a picnic pavilion, gazebo, walking trail, and they often hold a lot of free events and concerts there. You all can toss a football around, play a little soccer, or even pack up a delicious picnic to enjoy together on your vacation. You can even reserve the gazebo for no fee at all if you want to have your picnic under some shade. After all, isn’t quality family time one of the most important parts of a getaway? Since there is a river there, you all can even do a little fishing! All you need is a Tennessee Fishing License which you can pick up from our local Walmart in Sevierville. Get ready to catch some trout as you spend some time enjoying the water and this fun activity. Along their ½ a mile walking trail, you will come across the flags of all 50 states as well as several memorials for our amazing veterans here in Pigeon Forge. Patriot Park is also home to the main trolley hub if you’re looking to go out and about in town without having to drive anywhere (yes please!)

I’m sure that after all the fun you were having throughout the afternoon, you’re probably ready for a hearty dinner, am I right? Whenever you ask us at the front desk where we recommend going to eat, you are sure to hear us all say the Pottery House Cafe and Grille. If you’re looking for some true southern comfort food, this is exactly where you’ll want to be. They have everything from fried green tomatoes to “apple pie” pork chops (they are to DIE for, a definite must try) and everything in between. Their soups and sandwiches are a personal favorite, and trust us when we say, you get A LOT of food at a great price. You will leave with leftovers and a meal you all won’t stop talking about for months to come. If you actually have some room for dessert, don’t forget to end your night at the Old Mill Creamery. Share an ice cream cone or get a tasty treat just for yourself, it might be hard to just choose one single thing though. You’ll love this sweet shop and it’ll be the perfect end to A Day at the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge!
