Smoky Mountain Deer Farm and Exotic Petting Zoo

This a truly unique experience and one that the entire family is going to rave about. This locally owned and designed 140 acre farm is home to all kinds of beautiful animals which include elk, reindeer, goats, zebras, kangaroos, deer, donkeys, and many more! You’re able to get up close and personal with them when you visit. They allow you to walk alongside them and even hand-feed them. The petting zoo prices are as follows: $11.99 for ages 13 and up, $7.99 for ages 3-12 , $0.99 for kids 1-2 and $0.09 for ages one and under. Not only do they offer their fantastic petting zoo, but they also have pony rides and riding stables. They also have a truly one of a kind experience that you get to witness. If you visit in April through August, you will get to watch the antlers begin to grow and then from September through March, you get to view their full racks! You can honestly tell when you’re here that these animals are truly loved and cared for and you can see how happy they are. The owners are wonderful people and this is a must do when you come to town.

Parrot Mountain and Gardens

There’s no such thing as seeing too many animals and you’ll agree after reading about this next exhibit. Located right by Dollywood, this beautiful garden and parrot preserve offers a truly entertaining experience for kids and adults alike. You’ll get to see beautiful and uniquely designed parrot cottages. There will be tropical birds that are perched all along the pathways on your way to their secret garden! Inside there will be toucans, magpie’s, and more flying all around you, it’s so incredible to see. Next up is the bird garden, which according to their website, has around 70 birds of all different species waiting for you to come and feed them. That’s right, you can hand feed them seed and even take pictures with them. You then reach the lory aviary where you can feed them nectar from a cup. You’ll also get to see a waterfall before you enter the nursery for their baby birds. You can pet them and feed them, it’s one of the best parts! We are sure that you all will make some amazing memories at this special place.

Patriot Park

Parents will love this one because you can enjoy the park for as long as you want to and it doesn’t cost a cent. There’s a big open field where you can have a picnic, play some ball, or look out over the little pigeon river. There’s also a big picnic pavilion and a gazebo that families can take advantage of while visiting. The kiddos can even feed the geese right by the river, we know they will love this (and so will the geese!) There’s a walking trail with veteran memorials all throughout and right near the park is a delicious creamery. Everyone needs a sweet treat on a hot day and this is just where you’ll want to go, it’s a popular one for good reason. If they’re obsessed with Pokemon go (or maybe just you are, yes parents, I’m talking about you), they’ll be able to catch them all here as well! You can also do a bit of window shopping and take them to see our very own little waterfall at the historic grist mill.

The Island

This is another great place to visit for all ages, it’s a big one stop shop. Here you will find attractions, dining, shopping, and more. What will first catch everyone’s attention is the big enclosed ferris wheel. What’s extra special about it is that it’s actually air conditioned or heated depending on the weather. You all can be whisked away to see all of the beauty of Pigeon Forge from way up above. They also have a huge outdoor ropes course, kiddie rides, an arcade, a mirror maze, escape room, and more. Once the sun begins to set, they have an incredible show fountain where you can see the water illuminate with stunning colors as it dances to a synchronized set of songs. They have rocking chairs set up all around the fountain, so it’s a great place to relax after a day of fun!

The Track

Adults and kids alike will love this next stop. Here you will find a bunch of adult go karts and kiddie kart tracks, blaster boats (prepare to get soaked), bumper cars, kiddie rides, mini golf, an arcade, and much more! There’s actually two different locations and each offer exciting activities for the whole family to enjoy. Nothing beats seeing families racing each other on the go kart tracks, you always see a smile on everyone’s face and that’s all you can ask for on a vacation with your loved ones.
